When to see the space stations.
Visible passes over Rockville, MD in the next 10 days. Look for a bright, steady dot crossing the sky in a few minutes, with no blinking lights.

A pass counts as visible when the station climbs at least 10° above the horizon while it is lit by the Sun and the sky where you stand is dark (the Sun at least 6° below the horizon). Predictions further ahead can shift by a minute or more after the station raises its orbit.
Positions are computed in your browser every second with the standard SGP4 model from the latest published orbital elements, downloaded 5 hours ago. For most satellites the dot is within a few kilometres of the real one; a satellite that has just fired its engines can be further off until new elements are published. Only working satellites in the public catalogue are shown, not classified ones, retired ones, rocket stages or debris.
Orbital data: CelesTrak, from GP data published by the U.S. Space Force through Space-Track. Earth images: NASA Earth Observatory (Blue Marble Next Generation by Reto Stöckli; Black Marble 2016). Orbits computed with satellite.js; globe drawn with three.js.
