About ABAS
The American Bootes Astronomical Society, Incorporated (ABAS), founded on June 13, 2023, in Rockville, Maryland, by Renjiang Xie and Ruofan Wang, is dedicated to promoting both professional and amateur astronomy. Since May 2023, ABAS has organized numerous sidewalk astronomy events, public lectures, and summer camps, bringing the wonders of the cosmos directly to our communities.

Whether we’re setting up telescopes under dark skies, hiking out for the perfect view, or hosting hands-on astronomy outreach events for kids, we’re driven by a shared love for science, the outdoors, and the wonder of the universe.
